Julie Cloutier is an artist living and working in Sebastopol, CA. Her ceramic work focuses on functional wares, everyday objects and playful sculptures. Made one by one, by hand in her garage studio, she explores the boundaries between art, utility, play and craft. The materiality of stoneware is her obsession and her ceramic work aims to highlight clay itself—never hiding the exterior with glaze. With a focus on intentionality and ritual, her architectural background informs her minimalist lines.
All ceramics are food-safe, dishwasher-safe, non-toxic stoneware. Each piece is truly unique due to the special atmosphere created in every firing in a high-fire gas kiln environment.
